- Older now, Alice stands before a mirror, convinced that the strange world she once fell into is finally behind her. But the reflection tells a different story. Beyond the glass, Wonderland still holds her captive. In a fleeting moment of realization, surprise gives way to fear. The mirror becomes more than a reflection—it becomes a doorway to the truth she was not ready to face. "Teenage Alice" explores the fragile boundary between escape and illusion, and the unsettling possibility that sometimes, the places we believe we have left behind are still within us.

- Nymph draws inspiration from Greek mythology and the beauty of nature in Matsumoto, Japan. Nestled among the mountains, the region comes alive in spring with the blooming of wisteria (fuji), whose cascading violet flowers transform the landscape with both color and fragrance. In this work, I imagined a nymph emerging from these blossoms—a spirit of nature embodying renewal, beauty, and the fleeting magic of spring. The painting is a tribute to the harmony between myth and the natural world that surrounds us.

In that light, she recalls the moment of sacrifice—the instant her son gave himself for all humanity. Darkness encroaches, swallowing the space around her, yet she does not turn away. Her eyes remain steady, unwavering. Within that fragile glow lives her hope: the belief that his sacrifice was not in vain, that even in the deepest shadow, humanity still carries the possibility of redemption. This piece explores the tension between despair and faith, between the weight of loss and the quiet, enduring strength of devotion. Executed in watercolor, the work challenges the medium’s traditional delicacy, pushing it toward a depth and density more commonly associated with oil painting.
- The Passage of Time Through Our Gaze at Nature A gaze suspended in time, where nature ceases to be something we observe and becomes something that inhabits us. A flower emerges from the eye as an extension of the sensitive, while a small living creature moves across its surface, transforming the gaze into a world of its own. The work invites reflection on our relationship with nature and the inevitable passage of time: observing, being observed, and becoming part of what we believe we are merely contemplating.
- This work was inspired by a dream I had, in which I imagined a fried egg resting on top of a rooster. I wanted to transform that strange and unexpected image from my dream into a surreal composition. The work is also influenced by the aesthetics of Japanese sumi-e, particularly in the simplicity of the subject, the expressive use of space, and the way color is used selectively rather than covering the entire image. The idea of the egg placed over the rooster also has a connection to oyakodon, a traditional Japanese dish made with chicken and egg. I incorporated this cultural reference into the surreal imagery, combining the rooster and the egg with a chrysanthemum forming its tail. The flower introduces another layer of contrast, bringing together the animal, food, and botanical elements in a single dreamlike image. The artwork was created using Copic markers and acrylic paint.

Rendered primarily in charcoal, with subtle touches of color, the work contrasts the rawness of the dark tones with small traces of life and emotion. These fragments of color suggest that, even within profound emptiness, something remains.

Inspired by Bacchus, the figure of the god of wine is reimagined through a feminine presence, connecting the local landscape with the timeless imagery of classical mythology.
